Maintaining stream education in the classroom has never been more important. CS Britton Inc. has partnered with a local K-12 school to implement a Stream Stewardship training that simultaneously provides continuing education units for teachers and supports in-classroom stream education.  We are helping to create hands-on activities for students in the classroom that are easy for teachers to implement while providing teacher’s a hands-on learning environment to gather data in the stream and build confidence in their knowledge to bring surveying, stream health and classification activities into their classrooms.

About Tim Hawig

I have been teaching as a middle and high school teacher of science and math for almost 20 years in North Carolina and Georgia. In the past seven years I have led an initiative to imbed stream restoration into curriculum at all levels of our school system. Scott Britton of CS Britton has supported this journey which has touched many aspects of our local community and beyond.  The University of West Georgia has created a certificate program via our collaboration.
